Well Authentic Jordan Evans Jersey , at least until the last 10 seconds. That’s when A.J. Green and Andy Dalton hooked up for a game-winning touchdown to win in Atlanta.Despite all of the dumb penalties, putrid defense, horrific injuries and questionable calls Youth Hardy Nickerson Jersey , Green and Dalton overcame it all to carry Cincinnati to a much-needed win in Atlanta. With the Bengals trailing by five in the closing seconds, Dalton found Green open in the back of the end zone for the game-winning score: You could not have asked for a better ending for a game that was painfully frustrating for Bengals fans to watch for much of the game, especially in the second half. Now , the Bengals are 3-1 following a very challenging four-game slate to open the season, and the playoffs look like a very real possibility for this team. Who freaking Dey!Bengals safety Shawn Williams being evaluated out for a concussion The Injuries keep piling up in the Bengals secondary.Shawn Williams is the most recent Bengal to exit Sunday’s game against the Steelers. The safety has been ruled out with concussion. He had exited the game before the Bengals’ goal line stand in the third quarter, but he returned the next drive. Then he was run over by Pittsburgh running back James Conner. Following that Clayton Fejedelem Jersey , the trainers walked Williams back to the locker room where he was being looked at for a concussion. He was replaced by Clayton Fejedelem who was replacing Jessie Bates III. Bates returned to the game after being evaluated for a concussion himself. The Bengals are already thin in the secondary as William Jackson was already iffy to play coming into the game, Darqueze Dennard has been ruled out with a shoulder injury and Bates already leaving the game once already. We will update as more information becomes available.

A winnable game against an inferior opponent Chicago Bears Hoodie , at home, a rookie quarterback, on the road. If the Bears want to be the team that fans are expecting them to be, that they can and should be, then they should take care of business Sunday. However, things are never that simple, especially when it comes to the Bears, right? The New York Jets appear to be a rudderless, banged up team with a struggling rookie quarterback and missing key players. But the Bears also couldn’t beat Brock Osweiler on the road two weeks ago and a defense that had 18 sacks and was giving up barely a couple touchdowns a game suddenly has surrendered 69 points in their last two games. This is a different opponent, a different week, but will the results be the same infuriating thing we’ve seen the last two weeks or a return to what we want form to be?New York JetsSB Nation site: Gang Green NationGame Day/Time/TV: Sunday, noon CST, CBSRecord: 3-4Last week: 37-17 loss to the Vikings at MetLifeBears all-time record against: 8-3Historical match ups: There isn’t a lot of history between these teams, such is the way it is when neither team has a ton of recent playoff experience and the two conferences never really played each other before realignment. So let’s look at the 2006 game, which was a week 11 meeting. The 0-0 halftime tie was broken by a Robbie Gould field goal in the third quarter and then a 57-yard Rex Grossman to Mark Bradley at the start of the fourth was enough to seal a 10-0 shutout.Chad Pennington threw interceptions to Nathan Vasher and Brian Urlacher.Last meeting: A 27-19 week 3 victory in 2014.The Bears jumped out early to a 7-0 lead on a Ryan Mundy pick six off Geno Smith on the second play of the game. Alshon Jeffery had 105 yards and Martellus Bennett caught two touchdowns. The Bears moved to 2-1 on the season and all appeared to be headed in the right direction.Offense: The Jets come into this game ranked 26th in yards and 13th in points.Their passing offense ranks 27th in yards while their rushing game is 12th.No. 3 overall pick Sam Darnold (56.1 completion percentage/1,552 yds./10 TD/10 INT) is struggling as rookies often do. His 10 INTs lead the league. In his last three games he has six TDs and five INTs. His best receivers are Quincy Enunwa (22 rec./287 yds./1 TD), who is injured Youth Customized Chicago Bears Jerseys , Robby Anderson (17/314/3), Jermaine Kearse (16/165/0) and Terrelle Pryor (14/235/2).Other receivers of note include TE Christopher Herndon (11/145/2).The Jets receiving back, Bilal Powell (11/110/1 receiving, 80 att./343 yds./0) went on I.R. this week, leaving leading rusher Isaiah Crowell (81/459/5) as the main running back.One-time Bears QB coach Jeremy Bates is calling the plays.Defense: The Jets defense ranks 20th in yards allowed and 17th in points allowed. They are 21st against the pass and 14th against the run.Up front they have Leonard Williams (3 sacks/6 TFL/10 QB hits) and Henry Anderson (2.5 sacks/3 TFL/4 QB hits). LBs Jordan Jenkins (2.5 sacks/6 QB hits), Brandon Copeland (2 sacks/5 TFL/8 QB hits) and Avery Williamson (2 sacks/4 TFL/3 QB hits) are lurking too.In the secondary is Morris Claiborne (2 INTs/9 PDs/2 TFL) playing very well, along with Trumaine Johnson, who is injured, (1 INT/2 PDs) and playmaker Jamal Adams (1 INT/6 PDs/2 FF/6 TFL). LB Darron Lee (3 INT/5 PD/2 TFL) is also making plays. This is another unit that is going to show Mitch Trubisky a lot of exotic and disguised fronts to throw him off. They have some corners who can play man well and Trubisky has struggled against man coverage. The Jets have had some struggles but there are some playmakers on the defense, especially in the secondary.Injury report: The Jets had 14 players on their Wednesday injury report.Limited: S Marcus Maye (thumb), LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (foot), CB Buster Skrine (concussion)Did not participate: WR Robby Anderson (ankle), T Kelvin Beachum (back), CB Morris Claiborne (shoulder/foot), WR Quincy Enunwa (ankle), CB Trumaine Johnson (quad), LB Darron Lee (illness) , C Spencer Long (knee/finger)Full participation: G James Carpenter (shoulder/ankle), RB Isaiah Crowell (foot), WR Andre Roberts (foot/ankle), DL Leonard Williams (back)Key match ups: The Jets are very banged up but assuming that at least Claiborne can go, it will be interesting to see how he matches up against Taylor Gabriel (unless Allen Robinson plays and Claiborne flips sides to cover him with Johnson possibly out). How the Bears run defense stacks up against Crowell will be interesting too. Crowell absolutely gashed the Broncos a couple of weeks ago for 219 yards and he put up 102 in week one against the Lions. The pass rush should have some opportunities against the Jets, who have allowed 16 sacks, but can the Bears generate a pass rush if Khalil Mack is still hampered by his ankle injury? What to watch for: Will the Bears finally get back on track after two struggling weeks? If there was a match up that favored Vic Fangio and the defense to get their game straightened out after two bad games, this is it. The Jets can put up points and with the way the Bears have been gashed by James White and Frank Gore, Crowell could make it a long day. That said though, the secondary will have some chances, especially if Akiem Hicks can get back on track and maybe Leonard Floyd shows up?This is another test for Mitch Trubisky to play soundly and take care of the football because Jamal Adams will be lurking back there waiting for an errant throw into double coverage.Key stats: The Jets have allowed 71 points the last two weeks, the Bears have allowed 69.The Jets have the third most turnovers in the league with 16, the Bears are second in the league in takeaways with 17. The Jets defense is just behind the Bears, with 15.The Bears have the league’s fourth best third down conversion rate on offense at 46.8 percent. The Jets rank 28th at 34.4 percent.Prediction: This game favors the Bears and in Vegas the spread is up to 7.5 in some places. I think that the Bears can cover this game, but that it might end up being closer than fans would like. My pick is Bears 28, Jets 17. Bears fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse. The Chicago Bears’ are coming off their bye week, and even though they didn’t play, their lead in the NFC North grew thanks to the Detroit Lions beating the Green Bay Packers. It’s too bad the Minnesota Vikings won, but I have a feeling their tie with the Pack will somehow come into play come playoff time. Here are the current NFC North standing:Bears: 3-1Packers: 2-2-1Vikings: 2-2-1Lions: 2-3These individual team confidence polls seem to flow with the wins and losses, so when you root for the only team with a three game winning streak (the Bears) it’s natural that their numbers remain high. We’ll take a peek at the confident level info-graphics for each NFC North team below. BearsPackersPacker fans have seen their confidence level go on a steady decline, but that’s understandable considering their uneven performance this year (W-T-L-W-L).VikingsThe Vikings were thought to be a legit Super Bowl contender this year, but a bad loss to the Buffalo Bills seems to have shook their fans. Beating the champion Eagles has their confidence soaring again though. LionsWins against the Patriots and Packers caused a spike in confidence, and with a bye this week we may finally see the level stabilize. Interesting to note that they also get the Miami Dolphins in Miami following their bye week. And speaking of the 3-2 Dolphins, the Bears opponent this Sunday, here is how their FanPulse voting went this week. DolphinsIt may be another down week next week, as both Miami fans and Bears’ fans are expecting a Chicago victory. Fins’ fans have the Bears winning by three, and Bears’ fans are predicting an eight point spread. What do you guys think? If you aren’t a part of WCG’s FanPulse, join now!

In Sunday's 34-0 drubbing by the Rams in Los Angeles, the Cardinals offense didn't manage to cross midfield until the next-to-last play of the game.Arizona had five first downs and 137 total yards. That follows 213 yards the previous week against the Redskins. The Cardinals (0-2) are averaging 175 yards per game, dead last in the NFL and it's not even close."There's a lot of self-inflicted stuff going on," Wilks said Monday. The problems on offense are pretty much everywhere, he said. The offensive playbook will be scaled back and simplified for next Sunday's home game against Chicago and the Cardinals must get David Johnson in open space to be his dynamic self."Talking to (offensive coordinator) Mike (McCoy) this morning, talking to the staff, it's some of the things that we're going to try to do," Wilks said, "Again, early on in the season, to me, guys are making mistakes, and this is throughout the league in the history because they're overthinking. They're trying to think too much and not execute, and I want the guys to go out there and play fast. So, we're going to scale back, and we're going to make sure we get these guys in the best position to be successful."Sam Bradford remains the quarterback. Rookie Josh Rosen's time has not yet come, Wilks said."If I thought it was just that one position, I would be more than willing to say, 'You know what? We need to make a change. We need a spark. We need something to happen,'" Wilks said. "But it's just not Sam. There are numerous things, as I just mentioned, that collectively Cory Littleton Jersey , we've got to get better and try to find a way to rectify these problems and be a little bit more productive on the offensive side of the ball and still try to get off the field on the defensive side of the ball to give these guys more opportunities."So, it's just not that one position."Bradford, who is coming off another significant knee injury, completed 17 of 27 passes against Los Angeles but for only 90 yards. The team's longest play was a 15-yard pass to Larry Fitzgerald. Arizona had just three plays of 10 yards or more. Bradford has 243 yards passing combined in two games."Frustrating, to say the least," Bradford said after the game. "I think to put so much work and so much effort into getting back on to the field and then to play the way we have in the past two weeks, I think it's just really disappointing."Wilks called Bradford's play "inconsistent.""Does he need to be a little more accurate? Yes," Wilks said. "But that's just not Sam. We need to get a little bit more protection. He needs to have a little bit more time to go through his progression."Fitzgerald aggravated a sore hamstring in the Rams game and watched from the sidelines through much of the second half. He has missed just six games in his 15-year career."Larry, we all know — you guys have been around here for a while — it's going to be tough to keep Larry off the field," Wilks said. "I've got to help Larry help himself, and that's what I did yesterday. We're going to do everything we can to make sure that he is ready to go on Sunday with the treatment and amount of reps that he gets in practice."David Johnson, the talented running back who is supposed to be at the center of the offensive attack, has been limited mostly to runs up the middle. He carried 13 times for 48 yards against Los Angeles and caught one pass for three yards."You look at some of his runs, and a lot of it is just David himself, just second effort kind of things," Wilks said. "We've got to do a better job sustaining blocks, allowing David to get to that second level to where he's so effective and making the guy miss. It starts upfront with the offensive line and again, with us just being more creative with the things that we're doing with him."Notes: Wilks was optimistic that the team would have DE Markus Golden (knee) and TE Jermaine Gresham (Achilles) back for the Bears game. Both are coming off surgery and neither has played this season. In the first meeting between these two NFC West rivals, the Los Angeles Rams barely eked out a 33-31 victory in Seattle, underscoring just how tough it is to win at Century Link Field. Despite being heavy favorites, the Rams faced a feisty, game opponent in the Seahawks in week 5. [Insert Rudy Tomjanovich “heart of a champion” meme here]Flash-forward to Week 10. The Rams are 8-1 Authentic Ndamukong Suh Jersey , and should be highly motivated coming off their first loss. Seattle is 4-4, and fighting for their playoff lives behind a surprisingly strong running game. Can the Rams take care of business in more convincing fashion at home? Here are five Rams to pay close attention to in Sunday’s rematch.CB Marcus PetersAKA Mob Squad Public Enemy Number One. Yes, I’m getting tired of writing about this guy just as much as you’re getting tired of reading about and commenting on him. I was at the game in Seattle in the nosebleed section and able to see the entire field, where I witnessed Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett burn this man repeatedly off of play action and double-moves. Simply put: he’s got to play better, keep his eyes on his man and out of the backfield, and at least play some semblance of coverage. I know we’re all looking forward to seeing CB Aqib Talib return in a few weeks, but with home field and seeding coming into focus, a few solid weeks from the mercurial CB would go a long way towards repairing what has become a fractured relationship.OLB Dante FowlerPerhaps I’m just starved for pressure off the edge, but I came away fairly pleased with Fowler’s week 9 performance against the Saints. He brought some physicality and presence, generated some QB pressures, and was generally sound against the run. At the very least, he’s a player other teams must now account for, and that in and of itself will aid both the Rams’ interior linemen and our beleaguered secondary. Look for Dante’s Inferno to crank up the heat on Sunday with a larger share of snaps and a better understanding of the defense. I’m looking for a strip sack, scoop, and score. Otherwise, cut him. KIDDING. I kid.WR Brandin CooksCooks was injured on a vicious (dirty?) hit by Seattle S Tedric Thompson in the first matchup. His line for the day read 0 catches for 0 yards, as Cooper Kupp slid over to WR2 and Josh Reynolds manned the slot (before Kupp’s own concussion protocol situation developed). Although 31 points is nothing to sneeze at, you have to believe a healthy Cooks would have aided the Rams offense that day and perhaps given the team a little more cushion than a Cairo Santos wobbler. Hopefully, Cooks can exact a little John Wick-level payback for the rude treatment he received at the CLINK.TE Gerald EverettThough his snap counts remain relatively low compared to TE Tyler Higbee, Young Gerald is finally starting to flash a little bit on the field and in the box score, with 3 catches for 48 yards (and a sweet 2-point conversion) last week against the Saints. It’s a shame there’s only one football, as this kid is a YAC beast when given opportunities in the passing game. Presumably Youth Robert Woods Jersey , Tyler Higbee continues to get the lion’s share of snaps due to his superior blocking skills, not because he drops dimes from Goff like he did last week in New Orleans. Hopefully, Everett’s emergence is a trend and not an anomaly, as his physical presence could aid the Rams in the red zone and in short-yardage situations. Fly, Young Gerald, fly!DT Ndamukong SuhA few weeks into the season, I stood atop a mountain and proclaimed “Suh is worth every penny!” He was getting pressures and sacks in timely situations, helping stuff the run, and living up to the “prized FA acquisition” moniker. Lately, not so much. In the first Seattle game, Seattle RBs Chris Carson and Mike Davis combined for 184 yards rushing, and while it has since been proven that the SeaChickens ground game is formidable, at the time it was downright embarrassing. At $14M, you do expect to see more of an impact from the big fella, and while he’s been solid, you can pay $7M for solid. Whether or not Carson plays on Sunday, it sure would be nice to see 93 and 99 shut down the Seattle ground game en route to an easy victory in LA.EDGE Ogbonnia OkoronkwoI’ll throw in an honorable mention here. If he suits up on Sunday, yep, he’s definitely a Ram to watch. I’ll reiterate the tempered expectations motif here — 5th round pick, coming off a broken foot and no training camp. You can’t teach explosiveness, but you also can’t replicate real NFL action from the practice field.

The Dallas Cowboys host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday , so it’s time to lean some things about the Jaguars. For that, we reached out to Big Cat Country to get some answers to our questions. Check it out.Blogging The Boys: The running back situation is a little unsettled. How has that unit been without Leonard Fournette? Also, do you expect Jamaal Charles to play/have any real impact in the game?BTB: Blake Bortles is always a point of conversation among NFL fans. Last year seemed to help his reputation around the NFL, but how has he looked this year? How does the fanbase feel about him?BTB: Last week, the Chiefs were able to have some offensive success against your defense. How did they accomplish that? Did they expose any weaknesses in that unit?BTB: Talk about the play of Barry Church. He was a player that was a nice piece of the Cowboys defense when he was here. How has he been in Jacksonville?BTB: Lay out the scenario for the Cowboys to get a win. If you were the opposing coach against the Jaguars, what would be your game plan?BCC: If I am looking at this from the Cowboys’ perspective Dallas Cowboys T-Shirt , I know that my 30th-ranked passing attack is not likely to be successful against Jacksonville’s No. 1 ranked passing defense. So, I am running the football with Ezekiel Elliot and scheming creative ways to get the ball in his hands. Once Jacksonville starts to key in on him and perhaps brings more players into the box, I am using play-action passes and short throws to the open receivers in the flats to try to pick up chunk yardage after the catch. Of course, that is much easier said than done against this athletic defense. If I am the defensive coordinator for Dallas, I am looking at what the Chiefs or Tennessee Titans did to the Jaguars, and trying to put the game in Bortles’ hands. Shut down the running game and pressure Bortles into bad decisions and turnovers. If the Cowboys are able to do that Dallas Cowboys Hats , they will definitely be in a good position to win. Here’s to hoping “good Blake” shows up on Sunday in front of a national audience. Thanks for the knowledge, Big Cat Country.Report: David Irving dealing with child custody issues plus other family matters delaying his return Things have been a bit mysterious surrounding David Irving since he was eligible to return to the Dallas Cowboys last week. Irving served a four-game suspension to begin the season and many people expected him to re-join the team for their Week 5 game in Houston.Irving didn’t play against the Texans and Jason Garrett sounded a bit unsure when asked about the player’s status on Wednesday. There haven’t been a lot of details beyond that Irving is dealing with a family situation off of the field that’s prohibiting him from devoting all of his time to the Cowboys.Late Wednesday night a report from the Dallas Morning News surfaced that contained a timeline of events detailing what Irving has been going through, a matter with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child Angela Sanchez. It hasn’t exactly been an easy road for him from the sounds of it. The Dallas police are now investigating the incident and will decide whether or not to charge Irving with “offensive touching” which is a Class C misdemeanor. Monday, October 1st was the first day that Irving was eligible to return to the Cowboys. That’s an awful lot of things to be happening in his life on one day, but unfortunately it didn’t end there as far as last week is concerned. The story also says that on Friday, Oct. 5th Dallas Cowboys Hoodie , Irving’s daughter with Sanchez was handed over to the mother in a contentious scene at her kindergarten school after Sanchez got a temporary restraining order against Irving. There will now be a hearing to determine custody issues next Wednesday.Irving’s past with Angela Sanchez is well-documented. There have been a lot of things he’s been in the news cycle for since the 2017 season ended, including his stance on marijuana in the NFL.Jason Garrett noted that David Irving was not at The Star on Wednesday, saying that it was his understanding that it was the same issue that was keeping him away from the team. It’s worth repeating that Garrett also said Irving is physically ready to play, but with so much going on in his life it’s understandable why he hasn’t yet. We’ll continue to update this story as more information becomes available.

OverviewWhen you look across the NFL this week  , there are five teams with 1-5 records: the Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders and the Los Angeles Rams’ Week 7 opponent...the hated San Francisco 49ers.

Among those teams, the Niners are by far the best team in the bunch. They could Womens Lamarcus Joyner Jersey easily be 3-3. The Niners have a strong running game headed up by RB Matt Breida. They offer competent wide receivers with Marquise Goodwin and Pierre Garcon . Couple that with better tight ends then the Rams and a formidable defensive line. What the Niners lack is a defensive secondary mirroring the Rams. It’s not enough to just look at the win-loss records. In my class, students are required to think about the game in the bigger context.Throughout NFL history, the only team which has remained a divisional opponent wit hthe Rams is the Niners. Gone are the Baltimore Colts, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers. The battle between NorCal and SoCal is storied and hotly contested. When the Niners made their run in the 80’s ask any player that played on those teams and they will tell you the Rams were their toughest opponent. Even when during this period San Francisco was winning multiple Super Bowls as long as the Rams beat the Niners once, Los Angeles could still be proud. This is equally true of the rivalry with the power shifting to the Rams the last two years.Emotions about this match run high. Management of both teams knows it. The coaches know it, and the players know it. This is not just another regular season game. It’s about who is California’s undisputed professional football champion.Diehard Ram fans like myself always keep an eye of what is happening with the Niners. While watching my Rams, I continually check out the outcome of the 49ers game. A Rams win is good weekend, but coupled with a Niners loss is even better. If the Dallas Cowboys also lose, then it’s a great weekend. This where the Professor’s thought process begins. Take your emotions out the game. Play Rams football, because in the end the better team is not the Niners. All of the things Angelenos want to see happen to the Niners during this game will come, if the Rams focus on the goal—win the game. Head Coach Sean McVay can’t allow his overly aggressive offensive philosophy take away his focus. Nor can the players allow their desire to crush the Niners to negatively affect their play like trying to make the extra yard and fumbling in the process or sacking Niners QB C.J. Beathard so hard they get an illegal roughness penalty.Stay in the moment. Play smart, and all things good will happen. What the Rams need to do on offenseDon’t expect RB Todd Gurley to get 200 yards this game on the ground. If he can pop a 10+-yard run now and again, this will clearly help the Rams in the passing game.QB Jared Goff needs to be accurate. Gone is WR Cooper Kupp for this game. The Rams can’t dwell on the injury though. Kupp’s replacement, WR Josh Reynolds must take advantage of the opportunity as McVay is not going to go into a shell regarding his playcalling merely because one of his starting wide receivers is out.The Niners’ secondary is a liability which the Rams need to take advantage of. In this area, I would like to see the Rams try to get TE Tyler Higbee or Gerald Everett more involved in the passing game since I would assume that All-Pro 49ers CB Richard Sherman, the only decent Niners secondary player, will be all over WR Brandin Cooks. This leaves Goff with only two other options down the field, WR Robert Woods or Reynolds. The Niners are clearly aware of their vulnerability having been torched last week by Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. That’s where the tight ends come into play. If the Niners’ gameplan is not to worry about whomever Sherman covers , this is time when the rarely used Rams tight ends can exploit the coverage. If the Rams come up with a way to effectively use their tight ends in the passing game, it will open things up for Gurley as well. Once the Rams get a couple swing passes out to him, it will force the Niners to adjust to the short pass and then Goff can go down the field to his wide receivers.None of this can be achieved without keeping Goff clean in the pocket. The Niners defensive line is formidable. They may not be the best, but they do put pressure on the quarterback even when not blitzing. That’s the gameplan. Take what the Niners defense is giving you. Get out to an early lead, and then the Rams offense can afford to take their shots. What the Rams need to do on defenseThe Rams must follow up on their improved run defense from last week. If the Rams are intending to have any success, it’s completely dependent on making Beathard look like the backup he was intended to be.Niners Head Coach Kyle Shanahan has no intention of throwing away his own aggressive offensive philosophy just because Beathard is in there. He hasn’t been that bad in Shanahan’s offense which is highly dependent on stretching the field with playaction passes and utilizing his tight ends. This will be a test for the Rams’ outside linebackers and safeties in coverage. The last time the Rams faced off against a opponent who uses the tight ends as much as the Niners do was the Oakland Raiders on Monday night in Week 1. In that game, former Rams and now Raiders TE Jared Cook had a career day.If the Rams don’t shut down the Niners’ tight ends, it’s going to be long day and could lead to a shootout.I would love to see CBs Troy Hill and Sam Shields alongside Marcus Peters and the safeties, Lamarcus Joyner and John Johnson III, have the breakout Lock Down Los Angeles game. Not only because its the Niners, but because this will boost their confidence level for future games. And once CB Aqib Talib returns, we’ll be as formidable as advertised regardless of who’s back there in the secondary. What the Rams need to do on special teamsPK Greg Zuerlein returns from his hamstring injury. This is good news, but I need to see that he is fully recovered. One misstep could lead to aggravating his hamstring again. So just be careful out there. If Greg thinks he can put his full weight behind a long one, let him take the shot since there’s no better way to know that you’re 100% back until you get the chance and perform to perfection.PR JoJo Natson Jr. has to have a big game. Whether this is a shootout or a close dogfight until the end, a big punt return can change the momentum of the game.P Johnny Hekker—If I never see him all day, things are going well. The X-factorsThe 49ers had a short week to get prepared for the undefeated Rams, but a short week of prep time is nothing when familiarity breeds contempt. I expect this to be non-factor.This is very meaningful game for the Niners. If they can beat the Rams, it will make their season as they have no hope of making the playoffs while our team is well on its way. Not only will beating the Rams rekindle optimism for the future, it will end the Rams’ undefeated streak. A double whammy. On the other hand, the Rams need to get this win as the next three weeks the Rams face the Packers, the Saints, Seattle Seahawks and then the Kansas City Chiefs. That’s a formidable stretch of games to expect the Rams to remain undefeated. The bottom line is that it doesn’t matter where these two play, whether its Santa Clara or Los Angeles. These two teams don’t like each other. They respect the rivalry Youth Ndamukong Suh Jersey , but that’s as far it goes.So now it’s time to close your book and actually think about what it’s really going to take to beat the Niners. The Niners could care less about the stats, the rankings or the records of either team.In these kinds of games when the focus is there, the better team should win. The Rams are the best team in the NFL bar none. Now go out play like it.GO RAMS!Los Angeles Rams versus Arizona Cardinals: Matchups to watch Although they had a relatively slow start, the Los Angeles Rams routed the Oakland Raiders on their way to a comfortable 33-13 win. Heading into week two the Rams are slated for a home-based matchup vs the division rival Arizona Cardinals. The teams have a long history of playing each other as NFC West rivals, though things are expected to be different this year with the Cardinals employing a new Head Coach in Steve Wilks.Let’s take a look at the matchups that may decide the game:LT Andrew Whitworth vs OLB Chandler JonesChandler Jones is one hell of a football player. Matter of fact, he lead the league in sacks last year with 17. In two games vs the Rams last season, Jones registered two sacks (one in each contest). Andrew Whitworth is going to be the man responsible for blocking Jones more often than not, so he’ll need to build off of a tremendous game in Oakland and keep QB Jared Goff clean for a second straight game.ILB Cory Littleton vs RB David JohnsonCory Littleton had a solid but unspectacular debut at ILB for the Rams in week one. Littleton lead the team with 13 tackles. He also registered a gimme interception that was recklessly tossed up in the air by QB Derek Carr. David Johnson is one of the most dangerous RB’s in the league as there are no limitations to his game. Johnson has the power to run between the tackles, the speed to go outside, he can block, and arguably the best part of his game is his dangerous receiving ability. Littleton will be one of multiple guys responsible for slowing down Johnson.KR/PR JoJo Natson vs P Andy LeeHell yeah I went there. The Rams have churned out multiple quality return men over the years in guys like Benny Cunningham and WR Pharoh Cooper. Cooper is going to be out at a minimum of eight weeks after being placed on I.R. and backup return man WR Mike Thomas has been ruled out too. Natson was just recently re-signed as he impressed as a return man in preseason. I predict he has at least one big punt return of at least 25 yards.DT Aaron Donald vs LG Mike IupatiEven though Aaron Donald might not have had the statistical output we all expected in week one, his fingerprints were all over the game. Donald had multiple rushes that impacted Derek Carr - including the Cory Littleton interception. He was facing two of the best guards in football in Kelechi Osemele and Gabe Jackson and still made a major impact on the game. Not only that, but he did register a sack that was flagged for hitting Carr low. Now Donald gets Iupati - expect him to have an absolute field day with the immobile Sam Bradford.QB Jared Goff vs Cardinals secondaryThe main guy in the Cardinals secondary is obviously CB Patrick Peterson. Though he may not be targeted a ton, the battle between Peterson and Brandin Cooks/Robert Woods will be exciting. The remainder of the Cards secondary is the most interesting part: CB Jamar Taylor, and Safeties Antoine Bethea, Budda Baker, and Tre Boston. Jared Goff should look to target anyone not named Patrick Peterson - and if he can execute and fix the timing issues from week one, look for it to be a loooong day for the Cardinals secondary.QB Nickell Robey-Coleman vs WR Larry FitzgeraldNRC is the forgotten man in the Rams star-studded defense back, which is okay. Fitz is known to slide into the slot for majority of the game so NRC will get a handful of the first ballot hall-of-famer. The manner in which the Cards deploy Fitz is more of a safe option as opposed to a deep dangerous one, so expect him to have a few receptions regardless. Last season Fitz had a 13-127-1 line in two games against the Rams. The Rams will open up at home vs the Cardinals who struggled all over the field vs the Washinton Redskins in week one.Look for the Rams to start out quickly and get back on track in the passing game.

College football Week 5 game times  , TV channels, analysis & predictions 12 PM ET: #12 West Virginia at #25 Texas Tech on ESPN2 - BIG 12 banger to start between two ranked squadsBoth teams have won their BIG 12 conference games but that just makes it even more important to get to 2-0.

These offenses are high-powered machines but Tech was able to hold the Oklahoma State Cowboys to 17 points in Stillwater. It helps when they hung over 40 points on Cheap Cole Beasley Jersey them. Now, they have a much bigger test with the Mountaineers, who’s senior QB Will Grier is off to a nice start:What to expect: Both offenses check the box but defense is going to have to win this one. Tech’s defense is dependent on who shows up as they couldn’t stop Ole Miss a few weeks back. West Virginia leads the country with only 12.3 points per game and we’ll take the visitors by six points. 3:30 PM ET: #18 Texas at Kansas State on FS1 - Can the Longhorns get first win in Manhattan since 2002?Last week it was about the Longhorns notching their first win in four years over TCU, who had owned them since the return to the BIG 12. This week, there are more “purple demons to exercise” as our friends at Burnt Orange Nation point out this 16-year drought with the Wildcats:What to expect: In order for Texas to officially claim it’s relevance, you have to beat these types of teams. The Longhorns offense is clicking with the help of Collin Johnson (#1 on my Dallas Cowboys wish list for 2019), give me the Horns big in this one.7:30PM ET: #4 Ohio State at #9 Penn State on ABC - History says this matchup will decide the BIG 10Urban Meyer’s return to the Buckeyes sideline last week in their 52-3 trouncing of Rutgers is nothing compared to the matchup on deck. This one has all the drama as this matchup has often decided the BIG 10 conference over this rivalry’s history. This game should be easily the best of the weekend with two fantastic programs littered with next-level talent. What to expect: This game will come down to the wire but give me the Buckeyes by a field goal in a game that will be a first to 40-type of atmosphere.7:30 PM ET: #7 Stanford at #8 Notre Dame on NBC - Two teams that need this victory for potential playoff hopesBoth of these teams have implications in this one but this is by far the Fighting Irish’s toughest game left. From week six on, Notre Dame’s schedule is a cake walk compared to Stanford who still has two more ranked opponents, both in-conference. The Irish’s coach, Brian Kelly went right after Stanford coach David Shaw:10:30 PM ET: #19 Oregon at #24 California on FS1 - Can Cal’s HC Justin Wilcox get big victory over his Alma Mater? The Ducks have won eight of their last nine games against the Bears but need this one badly after falling in the PAC 12 to Stanford last week. To add a little flair for the dramatics Youth Chidobe Awuzie Jersey , Cal’s head coach is a former Duck himself but these two squads are much different on offense. Cal’s head man Wilcox handles the defense while leaving the offense to coordinator Beau Baldwin, who is struggling to put up the points to match his explosive-style in the FCS, which got him this gig:What to expect: Cal’s win over BYU is impressive but that offense was only averaging 320.3 yards per game. Oregon is over 500+ yards per game on offense and though the Golden Bears’ are 16th in total defense, these Ducks are too explosive. Give me the Ducks by 14 points. The full array of games around college football can be found here.Cowboys News: Jason Garrett stands by Scott Linehan Garrett: No big offensive changes in store for Cowboys - Kevin Patra, NFL.comJason Garrett is continuing to stick with Scott Linehan as the play-caller, preferring to look at the total failure of the Cowboys offense instead of pinning the blame in one spot.Cowboys’ Jerry Jones not ready to ‘hit the panic button’ or have Jason Garrett call plays - Lorenzo Reyes, USA TodayNot only is Jason Garrett standing beside Scott Linehan, but so is Jerry Jones. And for what it’s worth, having his support is more important than anyone else’s. Cowboys LB Sean Lee sidelined by hamstring injury - Todd Archer, ESPNLost among all the other bad headlines and talking points from Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks is the fact that Sean Lee went down with a hamstring injury that will once again make him miss time. Cowboys DT Tyrone Crawford encouraged NFL will further discuss controversial roughing-the-passer penalty - David Moore, SportsDayThe NFL is discussing the roughing the passer rule after so many penalties being called. Tyrone Crawford , for one, is grateful. DeMarcus Lawrence likes the pressure - @PFFRight now it might be hard to think positive thoughts about the Cowboys, but it should be some consolation that DeMarcus Lawrence is still a fantastic pass rusher. He is third in the NFL in pressures so far. Byron Jones is the best cornerback in the NFL - @PFFThe Tank isn’t the only member of this defense that is playing lights out. Byron Jones, who finally switched back to cornerback in the offseason, has been justifying that switch in a big way so far. Report: Cowboys lose Adolphus Washington, re-sign DL Caraun Reid - Patrik Walker, 247 SportsSome more roster churning occurred on Tuesday as the Cincinnati Bengals signed Adolphus Washington off of the Cowboys’ practice squad. As a response, the Cowboys made some moves of their own. This Dallas Cowboys player could be key to reigniting the passing offense - Steven Mullenax, Fan SidedThe woes of the passing offense for Dallas have been well-documented, but what is the solution? Perhaps it could be new addition and lone bright spot Tavon Austin.

We’ve all seen the “Hot Takes” from the last weekend’s games all over the net.

In this series Youth Roquan Smith Jersey , I’m letting some time pass, and after reviewing the game tape a couple of times, I’m going to share some “Cold Takes.” about the Bears swelterfest in Miami. These are just a series of my thoughts and observations, presented in no particular order.First thing: I’m going to lay my “former coordinator” theory out there for y’all to noodle on a debate. Does it hold water? Here goes: My theory is that teams facing their former offensive or defensive coordinators are, despite talent levels, likely to get rocked. We’ve seen it three times this year alone. First, in the pre-season, when our second stringers went out under the direction ofKansas City’s former offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and demolished Kansas City’s first string defense. Nagy knew every single hole in that defense because he played against it every day in practice. Skip forward to the Lions-Patriots game, where former Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia’s Lions absolutely owned the game. He knew the playbook, after all. This last week, the Bears faced not only only their previous defensive coordinator in Dowell Loggains but also his predecessor Adam Gase. What do you think, does my theory hold water?I’ve gotta be honest, I’ve never played football in the kind of conditions that the Bears and Dolphins played in Sunday. I have, however, been a photographer on artificial turf when the temps and humidity were that high. I have no idea how either team could have even played in those conditions, I just about melted taking pictures. The weather was the same for both teams, but for Miami that’s a legit home field advantage, much like the altitude is at Denver and the ice is against teams from the south in Chicago is.Strait up, the defense lost this game. Defensive breakdown after defensive breakdown, it’s just that simple.Fumbles at the 1-yard-line are killers, yet they are really common. Dear Matt Nagy. Go for the win, not the tie... or at least go to get a LOT closer than the edge of your kicker’s maximum range. Dear Patrick Scales, how about we put that ball in the right spot when it’s game winning field goal time, m’kay.Dear Cody Parkey. Fans have about nine-million reasons to be unhappy about missed field goals, so let’s find a way to make the big ones.Tarik Cohen had a fantastic game up until he didn’t. I’ve heard a bunch of times that “Championship Teams win games like this.” OK, probably so... but how many of the people saying that picked Chicago to win the championship before the season started. I picked them to win it, so I have high expectations, but a lot of folks complaining about the Bears performance and record expected Chicago to have a losing season. I’ve been telling you all year that Leonard Floyd has be underrated by most people this season. Not this week, though. Floyd didn’t have a good game, at all.Adrian Amos was bad this week. Eddie Jackson had his worst game as a pro. Honestly, Amos has seemed to have regressed a bit all year, I don’t know if it’s the contract pressure or what.Missed tackles. Wow.Zero sacks. Wow.Truth, Matt Nagy got conservative in overtime. That was a mistake. Hopefully, like the mistakes he made in game 1 , he can learn from it.Alex, I’ll take “Phantom Offensive Pass Interference” for 1,000 please. In all seriousness, even though the officiating was bad in our game, I don’t think it was one-sided. Now that Green Bay game there at the end... I gotta be honest, it’s games like the Green Bay ending that make me wonder if the NFL rigged.Khalil Mack had his least effective game as a Bear, but that in no way changes the fact that Jon Gruden is an idiot.Oh, that reminds me, Jon Gruden is an idiot.Amari Cooper for Kevin White? Of course the Raiders would NEVER do that, but then again, they value players who “love football” above all else these days... and Kevin White sure loves football. OK, again, it’s just silly, not even Jon Gruden is that dumb. Probably.I think PFF rankings are flat goofy. Which Chicago Bears are the top players on offense this year according to PFF? Best player, Charles Leno, Jr. Fair enough, he’s playing great. Second best on offense? Taylor Gabriel. OK, fair enough, he’s been a great free agent signing. Third best? Jordan Howard. Really? Jordan Howard is playing better than Allan Robinson II & Trey Burton this year? That’s goofy. On the defensive side, PFF has our best player as Akiem Hicks. I kid you not. He has a significantly higher rating than #2 Khalil Mack. The third best Bears defender, according to PFF, is Bryce Callahan, followed by Eddie Jackson then Prince Amukamara then Kyle Fuller.PFF’s worst Bears starter is Dion SIms. I can’t argue that one. Cody Whitehair is an elite second level blocker.I asked my fellow WCG contributors if they wanted to share a cold take or two, here are their answers:Jeff Berkes: My cold take (or maybe it’s a rant - I don’t know):I’m getting whiplash from the game to game, quarter to quarter, drive to drive, throw to throw overreactions on Trubisky. Can we all agree, as a fan base, to take a step back and understand a few things: 1. He’s talented; 2. He’s inexperienced; 3. He’s learning a new offense; 4. He’s developing a rapport with new players; 5. The other team is trying too; 6. He doesn’t call plays, tackle people, or attempt long field goals. He was the #2 overall pick in last year’s draft. At a minimum, he’s the future of the Bears for 2019 and 2020 and if it all works out, he’ll be the QB through ~2035. He’s made some very good throws and he’s made some bone headed decisions. Let’s all take a deep breath and agree to look at his body of work at the end of the season to evaluate where he is at this point in his career. The Bears don’t need to make any decisions on his future, positive or negative Youth Eddie Jackson Jersey , until 2020 - why should we? Robert Zeglinski: When Khalil Mack doesn’t play well or do anything of consequence, this Bears defense is thoroughly average. You saw it on Sunday in the midst of the Miami heat as Mack generated minimal to no pass pressure. The Bears wilted against ... Brock Osweiler. Better said, the Bears revert to their 2017 level of defensive play, which was average as much as many hang their hats on a top 10 (in yardage) statistic. There’s a reason Mack has been discussed as a Defensive Player of the Year favorite and even an MVP candidate: he’s lifted a bunch of solid to good players on Chicago’s defense that much. There’s a realistic scenario where this team potentially only has one win if Mack wasn’t playing as well as he did in September. Let’s not mince words. The Bears better hope and pray Mack stays healthy and more consistent the rest of the way, because it’s frightening what happens to their unit when he isn’t on top of his game. Josh Sunderbruch:We just saw what the Bears look like without the Mack trade, because Mack wasn’t much of a factor. What do they look like? A team that can force another division leader into overtime while committing three turnovers. Kyle Fuller and Bryce Callahan stepped up big time. Trubisky saw two drives result in no points and he still kept slinging. A win would have been nice, but if anyone would have told me that a) Fuller was going to have two interceptions in a game and b) Trubisky was going to string together two games with a passer rating north of 120, I would have taken it as a sign of progress. Five games into 2018 look better than I would have thought at the close of 2017.Brock Osweiler just settled the Cutler debate in my mind. Almost every quarterback playing for the same offensive coordinator has played better than Jay did in Miami last year, and that includes a guy the Texans had to package with a pick in order to get someone to take him. Maybe earlier on in his career it might have been different, but apples to apples, even as a former Cutler defender, I can’t see what Gase was able to do with Osweiler and not think that the problem last year was wearing a #6 on his jersey. So what do you think Bears fans? Spill the beans!Mitchell Trubisky has the highest selling jersey in the NFC North According to the latest jersey report from Dick’s Sporting Goods, Chicago Bears’ quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has the highest selling jersey among all four teams in the NFC North. He not only bests all other jerseys from the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, and the Green Bay Packers, but there are only four other players that have more sold than Trubisky’s #10. Here’s how the overall top 5 looks.Carson Wentz, Philadelphia EaglesSaquon Barkley, New York GiantsTom Brady, New England PatriotsDak Prescott, Dallas CowboysMitchell Trubisky, Chicago BearsIn case you were wondering where the other top NFC North players checked in, they are as follows; Aaron Rodgers, Packers (18), Matthew Stafford, Lions (27), Kirk Cousins, Vikings (28).Other Bears to crack their lists are inside linebacker Roquan Smith, who is 9th overall among rookies, and 16th overall among defensive players. Wide out Allen Robinson is 49th among offensive players. The Bears have sold the sixth most jerseys overall behind the Giants, Eagles, Patriots, Cowboys, and Broncos. You guys get your Bears’ jersey yet?

Bengals week-by-week predictions and expectations for the 2018 NFL season

The NFL regular season is here! This is not a drill. We’re mere hours away from the Eagles and Falcons kicking off the 2018 NFL season in Philadelphia.I’m excited.I’m going to go out on a limb and say you’re excited , too.FOOTBALL IS BACK!But is this going to be a season we look back fondly on when it comes to the Cincinnati Bengals? I’m surely hoping so. And though I was pretty pessimistic about the Bengals at points this offseason, I’m feeling pretty good about the team heading into Week 1. So beforethe Bengals begin the season (Sunday at 1 p.m. in Indianapolis) let’s get to some week-by-week predictions as well as my best guess at who will be the Bengals’ rookie of the year, offensive player of the year, defensive player or the year, MVP and comeback player of the year.Regular season week-by-week predictionsWeek 1: Bengals at Colts, Sunday, September 9, 1 p.m. on CBS (win)The Bengals should beat the Colts, regardless of how Andrew Luck performs in his return to regular season action. The defensive line should get at him early and often and prove how much better the Cincinnati roster is than what they have in Indianapolis. Start the season with a strong message, Bengals.Record: 1-0Week 2: Ravens at Bengals, Thursday, September 13, 8:20 p.m. on NFL Network (win)The Bengals have beat the Ravens in seven of the last 10 times these teams have met, including a dramatic Week 17 win to end the 2017 NFL season. The Bengals need to prove they’re the better team in a nationally televised contest and show they’re competing for the AFC North crown. We all know what happened with the Bengals last year in Week 2 on Thursday Night Football. That embarrassment cannot be repeated. CANNOT. The Bengals need to get back in the good graces of Thursday Night Football in the team’s ONLY primetime game on the schedule.Record: 2-0Week 3: Bengals at Panthers, Sunday, September 23, 1 p.m. on CBS (loss)This is going to be a tough game for the Bengals, early in the season and on the road in Carolina. Do I think the Bengals can win this game, yes. Do I expect them to? No. It will really come down to how miserable the defense makes the game for Cam Newton and if Andy Dalton can keep up with the Panthers’ offensive output. Here’s a look at how the Bengals’ offense matches up with the Panthers’ defense. And here’s how the Panthers’ offense matches up with the Bengals’ defense:Get more from SB Nation’s new advanced analytics.Record: 2-1Week 4: Bengals at Falcons, Sunday, September 30, 1 p.m. on CBS (loss)This is another game that I expect to be tough for the Bengals as they go up against Matt Ryan and the Falcons in Atlanta’s new stadium. I’ll be there. I’d really like to see a win. PLEASE BENGALS, make my trip worthwhile. But for now, I’m predicting this as a loss. The Bengals’ defense is on the left in this image and the Falcons’ offense on the right... Record: 2-2Week 5: Dolphins at Bengals, Sunday Youth C.J. Uzomah Jersey , October 7, 1 p.m. on CBS (win)This is a game the Bengals need to win. When you host a bad team, it becomes a must-win situation (even when it’s not a must-win situation). My confidence is low in the Dolphins this year and after winning three of the last six games against the Dolphins, it’s time for the Bengals to add to a series that’s heavily tilted in the Dolphins’ favor (16-6 all-time).Record: 3-2Week 6: Steelers at Bengals, Sunday, October 14, 1 p.m. on CBS (win)The Bengals are pitiful when playing the Steelers at home in Cincinnati. The last time the Bengals beat the Steelers at home was September 16, 2013. If Marvin Lewis is really trying to revive his career in Cincinnati and finish on a high note, he needs to figure out how to beat the Steelers in Cincinnati. This offseason has been a different one for the Bengals and trending in that direction, this outcome will be different from the norm. The Bengals’ season could rely on the ability to beat Pittsburgh at least once.Record: 4-2Week 7: Bengals at Chiefs, Sunday, October 21, 1 p.m. on CBS (loss)The hype train is filling up for Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City and while the Chiefs’ defense looks unspectacular, the offense could be special. Will Dalton keep up with the young gunslinger in KC? I can see Andy Reid out-coaching Marvin Lewis to notch a victory for the Chiefs. That said, the Bengals’ offense should matchup pretty well with the Chiefs’ defense. The Chiefs defense is on the left here and the Bengals’ offense on the right:Record: 4-3Week 8: Buccaneers at Bengals, Sunday, October 28, 1 p.m. on FOX (win)Jameis Winston will be back from his suspension in time for this game, which should be a decisive win for the Bengals. Cincinnati will be playing its final game before the team’s bye week and the Bengals will look to end the first half of their schedule on a high note against a weaker team.Record: 5-3Week 9: BYE WEEKWeek 10: Saints at Bengals, Sunday, November 11. 1 p.m. on FOX (loss)The Bengals are traditionally bad after their bye weeks and against a tough team with a great quarterback, I’m expecting a loss. Nothing about this game will be easy.Record: 5-4Week 11: Bengals at Ravens, Sunday, November 18, 1 p.m. on CBS (win)Oh hey Womens Joe Mixon Jersey , it’s the Ravens again! The Bengals don’t finish their season against Baltimore for the first time since 2014. Instead, they’ll see Baltimore for the second time in Week 11 and will be looking to continue breezing through the AFC North with another win. Will this be the last time the Bengals face Joe Flacco in a purple uniform? It very well could be.Record: 6-4Week 12: Browns at Bengals, Sunday, November 25, 1 p.m. on CBS (win)The Bengals meet the Browns for the first time this season and while the Browns should be better than they were in 2017, they’re still a team the Bengals need to beat en route to proving the team’s dominance. Things are still looking as wild as ever in Cleveland and the Bengals need to get to win number seven in Week 12.Record: 7-4Week 13: Broncos at Bengals, Sunday, December 2, 1 p.m. on CBS (win)The Broncos have a new quarterback in Case Keenum, but is he really the answer for Denver? This is a home game for Cincinnati to start out the final month of the regular season. The Bengals will be facing former defensive backs coach Vance Joseph (now head coach in Denver) as well as two former players in Domata Peko and Adam Jones. Cincinnati should come out on top.Record: 8-4Week 14: Bengals at Chargers, Sunday, December 9, 4:05 p.m. on CBS (loss)The Bengals head west to the NFL’s smallest stadium — though it’s not really an NFL stadium — to play the Chargers. Los Angeles looks good on paper, but if history repeats itself they’ll be badly beaten up by then. This is a good team that it would be nice for the Bengals to beat, but out of their comfort zone, I’m counting it as an L.Record: 8-5Week 15: Raiders at Bengals, Sunday, December 16, 1 p.m. on CBS (win)The Raiders are looking like Cincinnati west after Paul Guenther moved to Oakland to take over as defensive coordinator on Jon Gruden’s team. Since his arrival, Gruden has made a lot of questionable decisions and heading into the season it looks like the Raiders will be a bottom-feeder in the NFL. AJ McCarron was brought in via a trade to backup Derek Carr and the Raiders also moved on from Khalil Mack. The Bengals should walk all over this team and make Guenther look bad for leaving.Record: 9-5Week 16: Bengals at Browns, Sunday, December 23, 1 p.m. on CBS (win)The Bengals finish off the season with back-to-back in-division matchups, the first coming against a Browns team that likely will have at least one win by this time in the year. Still, this is a must-win for the playoff-hopeful Bengals. They grab the W ahead of the regular season finale.Record: 10-5Week 17: Bengals at Steelers Youth Nick Vigil Jersey , Sunday, December 30, 1 p.m. on CBS (loss)Ending the season with an “L” isn’t ideal, but sweeping the entire division isn’t likely and the Steelers are going to want this win just as badly as the Bengals. The Bengals lose the game but still make the playoffs as the division champions.Final Record: 10-6Regular season Bengals awardsMVP: Andy DaltonIf the Bengals are good in 2018 it will be because Dalton helps lead them to win after win while taking advantage of his weapons.Offensive MVP: Tyler EifertIf Eifert is healthy, he has the potential to be elite and I see him returning to that elite form in 2018. The Bengals’ success relies on it.Defensive MVP: Geno AtkinsFresh off a massive contract extension, Atkins is equipped with all the tools to succeed, including a surrounding cast that’s incredibly impressive. Carl Lawson and Carlos Dunlap will help Atkins be not only the Defensive MVP in Cincinnati but a top candidate for the award league-wide.Rookie of the Year: Jessie BatesBates is set to become the first defensive rookie to start in Week 1 for the Bengals since 2009. That’s a big challenge and the second round pick is up for it. Look for him to be a playmaker in his rookie season.Comeback Player of the Year: John RossRoss had a rookie season to forget but has shown his ability to dazzle with highlight reel plays and the Bengals will be looking to get him involved early and often to put the team ahead with big gains, utilizing his speed.Leave your predictions in the comments! We pretty much know who the Bengals’ seven inactive players will be on Sunday vs. the Buccaneers. On Friday, the team announced that Darqueze Dennard, Nick Vigil, Vontaze Burfict, John Ross, Giovani Bernard and Tyler Kroft were all ruled out for this Week 8 matchup. In addition, Billy Price is listed as doubtful, though Marvin Lewis did say Price could play. The good news is the Bengals hit their bye week after Sunday, so all of these injured players will have extra time to rest and recover before Week 10 vs. the Saints. Still, not having Burfict, Vigil or Dennard is going to put a lot of added pressure on the Bengals defense to slow down a Buccaneers offense that’s scored 26-plus points in five of six games. And, it sounds like Burfict may need more than just the bye week to get healthy. As for the Buccaneers, they too will have some key players sitting out Sunday. Gerald McCoy and Vinny Curry have both been ruled out, which is a big loss to Tampa Bay’s struggling defense. It’s also great news for the Bengals’ patchwork offensive line. Also of note, Bengals long snapper Clark Harris cleared the concussion protocol and will play in his 144th Bengals game on Sunday. That will tie him with his predecessor, Brad St. Louis, for the most games played as a member of the Bengals.
